Well-known winners include Floatpoint by Emily Short, Violet by Jeremy Freese, and Lost Pig by Admiral Jota

Authors of interactive fiction must register with the intent to submit by September 1st and entries must be submitted by September 28th.

Since the competition’s start, IFComp has welcomed different kinds of interactive fiction, from Parser IF games to Choice-based. The only aspect of the competition that hasn’t changed is that games must be text-based.

As of October 1st, all the games will be released to the public and judging will commence.

Competition authors are excluded from judging entries, however, judging is open to anyone who registers on the site. Works are judged on a 1 to 10 scale based on the first two hours of play time.

If you are interested in the competition either as an author or a judge, I encourage you to register now to stay updated. You can also follow IfComp on Twitter. I’ll definitely be looking forward to playing entries in the near future.
